Oregon EMS and Fire Department

On Tuesday, October 9th, 20 EMS and fire fighters attended the autism training session at the Oregon Fire Department. The first responders asked excellent questions and added their own invaluable experience to the training. The small group sessions were enlightening and it was great to see everyone working together to apply the presented information in an effort to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Three local families also brought their autistic children to the session. The families graciously gave insight into their children and the children were also able to tell their side of the story, opening a unique window into the world as they see it. It was an excellent opportunity for first responders to interact with these familes and for the families to to meet their first responders.
