On Tuesday evening, the Autism Society of Greater Madison (ASGM) hosted the Autism Safety Training for Caregivers presentation. I spoke to over 20 parents, caregivers, and board members who have firsthand experience with raising a child on the autism spectrum. Many of the parents openly shared their own experiences, yielding a collective knowledge and wisdom that helped everyone in attendance. The presentation was followed by a visit from Dane County Community Deputy Coy Bethel, who graciously answered everyone's questions and shared his own experiences in working with differently-abled individuals.
The next Autism Safety Training for Caregivers session will be offered at the Autism Society of Wisconsin's Annual Conference in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 3rd.
