Walworth County Training at Lakeland School

Our special thanks goes to Lakeland School of Elkhorn for hosting Autism ALERT's first responder and caregiver trainings for Walworth County. Over 100 people attended with a broad range of backgrounds. Representatives from local police, fire, EMS, state patrol, educators, social workers, and health care professionals were present for the morning session to learn how to recognize, communicate, and interact with someone with an autism spectrum disorder. The afternoon session was filled with caregivers and volunteer first responders who came together to learn about ways to keep our kids with autism safe.

Lakeland School provided refreshments and volunteers and made the day a success for everyone. I also had the honor of touring Lakeland, which is a beautiful public school in Walworth County for disabled children. Walworth County is truly lucky to have such a wonderful facility filled with dedicated teachers and professionals.
