Watertown EMS brought me in to train all three of their full-time EMS crews. I was especially impressed while observing one of the small group exercises in which a participant turned off the lights, blocked the open door with his body instead of touching the autistic volunteer, and stood back to allow the one-on-one interaction of his partner and the volunteer, all of which reinforced the strategies emphasized in training.
I also had the fortune of being joined by representatives of the fire and police departments. Their comments for further expanding my training program within the community of parents, physicians, and other first responders were greatly appreciated.
